We made a textured brown bear after reading Eric Cale's Brown Bear, Brown Bear. They used tissue paper, black beans, and rice. After everything dried they painted the bear brown.
Leo Lionnie's Swimmy was a hit with our class. After we read the book the children drew their own ocean scence from the book. They were very creative!!!
